New Worlds Reading Family Overview

Speaker: Did you know that Florida offers a free program for students who aren't reading on grade level yet? Meet New Worlds Reading: an at-home reading program that mails eligible VPK-through-fifth-grade students nine free books and reading activities each school year to spark a lifelong love for reading and strengthened reading skills.

Whether your child is a scientist-to-be or a young historian, you can choose books based on their interest to help keep reading exciting! Our books are also available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Braille.

With every shipment, families get free reading guides, too! Plus, we even offer more free resources on our website, including educational videos, fun activities and more!

For those who are eligible to participate, New Worlds Reading currently sends books and resources to VPK through fifth-graders who are not yet meeting grade level expectations in Florida VPK programs, public and charter schools. Eligible kids remain in the program through fifth grade, even when their reading scores improve.
