Donations

Share the magic of reading with Florida students. Your support will ensure that more Florida communities, families, and eligible VPK – 5th grade students have access to books and literacy resources to empower our youngest generation of readers to develop their literacy skills, build confidence, and establish a lifelong love of reading.

Two ways to give

CORPORATE TAX CREDIT DONATIONS

Corporations can transform their tax liability into the gift of reading by donating Florida tax payments dollar-for-dollar to the New Worlds Reading Initiative.

If your company pays Florida Corporate Income, Insurance Premium, Direct Pay Sales & Use, Oil & Gas Production, or Alcohol Beverage Excise Tax, we can help you join us through a simple process.

As a registered Scholarship Funding Organization (SFO), UF Lastinger Center is eligible to accept tax credit contributions.

PRIVATE DONATIONS

Private donations are tax-deductible for the calendar year if received prior to December 31.

Other ways to support

Share about New Worlds Reading with the Donor Partnership & Marketing Toolkit

This toolkit was developed to provide easy access to email messaging, talking points, flyers, social media and photography to enhance our partners’ efforts of supporting New Worlds Reading. We hope you’ll consider using the toolkit or engaging with us on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and X.

Impact

The New Worlds Reading Initiative has helped over 425,000 children in Florida with reading resources, including more than 9 million free books, family reading guides, and targeted teacher professional learning to 20,000+ teachers since 2021.

There are ~10 million eligible children not reading at grade level here in Florida, and New Worlds Reading currently serves 30% of them.
